Dawn came. The sun was rising gradually over the horizon. Light peeked through small spaces between the red curtains of the bedroom. Other than that all was dark, and comforting, for the couple needed their sleep after the chaos of the day before. If one were to look at the disorganization displayed on the floor, one would know of the previous events that occurred. Articles of clothing lay half hazard on the floor, including a wedding gown--if you could recognize a Fire Nation wedding gown. Two crowns lay on the cherry wood dresser by the curtained balcony window, both set facing the other, as if they were lovers of their own. Two figures lay in the bed in the center of the room, the only sound coming from them being the soft breathing of their slumber.
The young man's arm was draped over his wife, holding her to him. They were so close his face was pressed into her shoulder and neck. The soft fabric of her red necklace brushed his cheek gently. His jet black hair draped into his eyes, but he didn't mind. The woman had pressed her body against his and her hand was placed softly on his arm. Her hair was draped across her pillow, keeping from bothering him with her long dark chocolate hair. They lay in peace, their bodies curving together to make one figure in the sheets. The lord suddenly felt his eyelids flutter, and a yawn passed through him as he stretched into his awakening. He smiled on her neck as he recalled last night's events. Today was considered the first day of their honeymoon, but all Zuko wanted to do was just lay in his--now their--bed with his newly beloved.
A small sound escaped Katara's lips and he knew she was awake. She smiled when he kissed her shoulder, and she turned her head to face him. She smiled too, her eyes only half open.
"Good morning, my Fire Lady," he murmured. She giggled groggily as he kissed her.
